Since our last post, Liam’s fevers have improved (along with his energy) and we are aiming to go home on Monday. Of course, given how quickly things can change, we are cautiously optimistic. Fevers, which are common in immunosuppressed people, could impede this. Moreover, Emily has been home sick for the past few days, and we are praying that she didn’t inadvertently pass her cold on to Liam.

Aside from going home, the big thing is seeing Liam’s blood counts recover (and immune system return) now that the first cycle of Phase 2 of chemo is done. Blood counts take 7-14 days on average to come back. Monday (8/12) will be day 7. Counts returning will help keep his fungal infection at bay and puts Liam in a better position to go home if we can’t leave on Monday.

Please continue to pray with us and for us:

  • Pray for endurance for our family.

  • Pray we go home soon (and for an extended time).

  • Pray against nausea. Liam has been extra nauseated following chemo.

  • Pray for healing.

  • Pray for Liam’s joy (he’s almost depressed at times…its been a long stay in the hospital).

  • Pray our God would use this to help all our kids trust in Jesus.

  • Pray for wisdom for Liam’s medical team.

  • Pray against infections (fungal and other).
