Dear friends,
Liam’s surgery went well last week. Thank you for praying! He now has a hickman line in his chest, and we are adjusting to caring for it. After surgery, he had to visit the outpatient clinic every day last week to receive a mild chemo. Today, we are in the hospital for a really intense chemo. They have to flush his system continually so that it doesn’t destroy his kidneys. We will have to stay overnight. Thankfully, the traveling nurses are able to administer the rest of his chemo in this cycle from home. The chemo he’s getting this week gives him the most nausea. Please pray that he would be spared from the worst of it, and that we would be able to stay on top of it with anti-nausea meds.
Also, this chemo will knock Liam’s blood counts (and immune system) back. This is when he is most susceptible to infections (of which he has had his fair share). Please pray that this time around he remains infection free.
Last week, Liam fell and hurt his knee. He wasn’t able to walk on it for several days, which really set him back in strength. He was able to walk a bit today, but not without some pain. Please pray that his knee heals quickly so that he can get back to playing and healing.
Lastly, please pray for our hospital stay tonight. Liam has PTSD like fears from our three-month stay here over the summer. He is very nervous and on edge. Pray that the Lord would give him peace. Thank you for always being with us in prayer, friends.

Praying
The update on Liam sounds positive. He is such a brave boy. He is strong and he has a very loving family and prayers surrounding him. I am praying for him. It is good to see Ben back at work - I don't inquire about Liam because I want the office to be a safe-zone for Ben - but I am thinking about Liam and your entire family. Keep being the strong brave family you all are. Barb (from the office.
Thanks for the update on Liam and y'all. I do note that all the pictures are of Liam smiling. That's not a whole picture of course, but very glad for these times. Many prayers for the hospital time and increased risk of infection. May YHWH Shalom be your gift in these times.
Continuing to pray for Liam daily that he would remain infection free, and that the Lord would heal him completely. In the meantime, I pray for strength for Liam and for your entire family. ~ Pat O’Toole
So glad the surgery went well— we will continue to pray for Liam’s healing and for you all to have strength and endurance for the treatment ahead— praying that he can have complete healing in his knee and no infections during this new round of chemo. Love you guys!!— The Gillaspie Fam
