When we began Liam’s treatment on Monday, we were told that there would be lots of ups and downs. Yesterday had more lows; today had both highs and lows.
Liam’s siblings, Lily and Jack, were able to visit now that they’ve recovered from their cold. It is so helpful for Liam to be with them. It helps him feel more normal and pulls him out of the hospital funk. Lily and Jack also think that the hospital is amazing. There are so many toys and activities and nurses and doctors! At one point, Lily wanted to play doctor and make Liam her patient. He politely refused.
Liam has been experiencing “very big emotions” due to so many things: steroid medications, discomfort, nausea, hospital cabin fever, and a lack of routine. Please pray that the Lord would grant us wisdom to navigate every little difficult situation with him. We are also working with the child therapist to form a routine for Liam that will give him some comfort and predictability.
Lastly, we just wanted to say thank you again to everyone who has supported us in any way over the last couple of days. We are completely shocked at everything that everyone has given us. You are God’s blessing to us.
