More Difficult News

Dear friends, 

Unfortunately, Liam’s condition has continued to worsen. He is not showing any improvement from the current anti-fungal medication. He is continually having fevers and not feeling well. He is barely eating and drinking. Last night, he began having severe abdominal pain which has continued into today. The doctor sent him to do another CT scan which revealed enlarged liver and spleen, as well as larger abscesses. They have started him on morphine to help with the pain. 

Tomorrow, they will perform a biopsy that will hopefully give us more answers. Either it will show that they have been treating the correct infection, or it could reveal other possible infections that have remained undetected. The doctor did not seem as hopeful as he has before. He explained that as the situation progresses, he will let us know if there's nothing more they can do. Our hearts are breaking as we process what may be coming.

Through all of the pain of grief and the unknowns, all we can do is cling to Jesus. Please pray that He would heal our son. Pray that He would take away Liam’s pain. Pray that we would continue to discover His love and comfort more than ever during this time. Thank you to all of our wonderful prayer warriors out there bearing this burden with us.
