Dear friends,

Unfortunately, Liam had a very difficult time tolerating the intense chemotherapy the past two weeks. He had severe nausea despite being on five different anti-nausea medications. This past Wednesday, we had to take him to the ER because he was dehydrated from the nausea and vomiting. They admitted us to the hospital and we have been here ever since. Some of Liam’s labs were irregular, indicating possible issues with pancreatic function, so they wanted to keep an eye on him for longer. We were already scheduled for a lumbar puncture and a different chemo in the hospital on Monday, so they will keep him until then. Hopefully we will get released after the procedure.

Liam is generally feeling very sick. His stomach is still hurting him, and he is still on several anti-nausea meds. He has lost a lot of strength in the last two weeks, and he already didn’t have much to begin with. Today, now that he’s had lots of IV fluids, he seems to be doing better and was able to get out of bed for a little bit. His last dose of the yucky chemo wes yesterday, so we are hopeful that he will start to feel better soon.

Please pray that Liam starts feeling better and that he is able to regain his strength. He can’t walk on his own at all; really any movement is difficult for him. Please pray that he would find joy in the midst of his pain, and that He would know that Jesus is with him through all of this. Pray for us as parents for wisdom in how to encourage him.

Please also pray for the lumbar puncture and chemo on Monday. That chemo often causes allergic reactions, so pray that he would be spared from that.

Finally, as chemo does it job, Liam’s blood counts and immune system are starting to plummet. This opens him up for infections. Please pray there would be no infections and that his blood counts would return quickly.

Thank you, friends.

Praying for strength when your strength is gone. Praying for hope when the way is dark. Praying for the peace that passes understanding, and praying for healing for Liam.
