Ways to Pray

Since our last post, Liam's blood counts have started to trickle in. By trickle I mean his immune system is slowly coming back online. Becuase of this, Liam doesn’t feel well and things could get worse before they get better. This is expected. Now that his body can fight his gut infection it is normal to feel sick.

That said, a surgey team has frequented Liam every day for the past few days to see how he is doing. Usually, with these sort of infections complications can pop up when blood counts come back in. This is because an immune response could be too heavy handed and cause issues like an abscess in his intestines thus meriting surgery. This would be a horrible turn of events for Liam.

A great comfort to us over the past few months is your eagerness to pray. Thank you.

• Pray for Lily

We homeschool Lily and based on what was expected with Liam's health we thought we would be home a lot more than we have been. Through the generosity of many, including some of you (thank you!), we are switching Lily to a local Christian school for the remainder of the school year. While this is a great blessing, we also expect this to be a big adjustment for her on top of the past few months. She is fragile right now. Please pray for her to know God through this time.

• Pray for Emily and I

We're edging on almost 100 total days in the hospital since Liam’s diagnosis. The daily flip-flopping between the hospital and home, separation from one another, lack of sleep, and emotional gymnastics is tiresome. Please pray God would continue to sustain us and grant us grace to take things a day at a time and find our greatest joy and contentment in Him.
